the Tale of Curumo Ishamle Gorthmar
And now to continue the tale of Curumo Ishamle Gorthmar, bringer of gifts, voice of Maliketh the lord of lore and order, dispenser of judgments and the master of the meta was not always the handsome all powerful protagonist of our story. the fact that he is none of these adjectives currently is irrelevant.

Chapter 7: Word Bearer Law giver

After making an example of the bandit camp Curumo continued traveling, as he traveled from village to village he saw nothing but chaos, disorder and ignorance. In these lands justice was handled by the local villages, one crime was retaliated upon in family blood feuds until entire families were left dead. The cost of allowing individuals to decide the fate was too high. Curumo knew he had to intervene. As he travelled he used his former mentor's books to finish his education and as he worked he realised the solution to his problem. He began to follow the path of Archon Draco. Every crime no matter how small had one punishment.... DEATH. In his wake the small crimes that began feuds that killed dozens ceased to happen for fear of the black clad scythe wielding traveling judge.

As time passed Curumo noticed the futility of his actions, he created peace and ultimately saved lives by preventing feuds, however people only remembered his influence for so long. Even at one village a day he knew most of the world would be drowning in chaos and blood.
"You know you need more, one man cannot change the world." the voice spoke to him one day as he walked from village to village.
"I know Maliketh, I know." Curumo was all too used to responding to the voice by now.

The next day Curumo arrived at the largest town yet, after putting the fear of Maliketh into the townspeople he entered the town forge. Remembering the lessons of his father he began forging metal plates and small cogs. If people needed reminding then he would build something to make them remember. Days and weeks past with no success. Each day the voice became more and more mocking. His pursuit of automatons was doomed and he realised it despite his knowledge he could not find a solution in the science and method of his father.
"What binds men stronger than steel, is lighter than air, can crush men more easily than a mountain, is a better shield than a fortress and more powerful than any king?" The voice asked
"religion," Curumo answered.
"The opium of the people, we must harness it , bend it to our own purposes."The next day Curumo left before dawn having melted down all the parts of his automaton prototypes into a large inscribed panel. It listed laws in the wording of religious commands, if a man could not alter the world than a prophet could. Curumo bringer of gifts gave the people laws and then left in search of one who could teach him about religion and how to use it for his own goals. He would have peace, in the name of his parents by the tip of his scythe or the point of a quill.

Next time Curumo sees the raw power of nature in a display that would alter his life forever and awaken a new passion in the name of an old one.
